ABNORMALITY DETECTION AND SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM
This Study relates to a method for determining criminal activity by an individual within a field of view of at least one video camera, said method comprising:
sampling the relative movements, from one or more images captured by said at least one video camera of said field of view, of an individual with respect to a moved, movable or moving object located within said field of view using said at least one video camera to generate a video signal;
electronically comparing said video signal of at least one video camera with known characteristics of relative movements of the individual with respect to the object that are indicative of an individual having criminal intent;
determining the level of criminal intent of said individual, said determining step being dependent of said electronically comparing step; and
generating a signal indicating that a predetermined level of criminal intent is present as determined by said determining step.
Other areas of interest include motion detection / exception (e.g., based on object size, speed, or direction), perimeter violation tools, and video analytics (e.g., object left behind, object removed) from the relevant time period.
