The four patents share similar descriptions. The FCC under a Phase II program for Emergency 911 service requires wireless carriers, within six months of a valid request by a PSAP (public safety answering point), to begin providing information that is more precise to PSAPs, specifically, the latitude and longitude of a mobile user. This information must meet FCC accuracy standards. The deployment of E-9-1-1 requires the development of technologies and upgrades to local 9-1-1 PSAPs.
